Welcome to Being Kind!
We are working towards developing a global community focused on Being Kind, sustainability, stewardship, and a place to share related resourources. Our goal is to create a community where we can share knowledge, support one another, learn from eachother, be inclusive, and create opportunities to practice kindness. We look forward to partnering with you on this mission and welcome feedback and suggestions. Each indivual will have a different perspectice on what Being Kind means to them, and your perspective is important. We hope you will join us in making our world a kinder place.
Several of our cofounders are Blackfeet and have shared with us the importance of the Blackfeet traditional practice kimapi’pitsan, which means sanctified kindness. This practice creates a safe space for open conversation, equality, and above all, compassion and gentleness to all living things.
Piikani Blackfoot Elder Dr. Reg Crowshoe and his wife and fellow Elder Rose Crowshoe took time out to speak with United Way about the traditional practice of kimapi’pitsan, which means sanctified kindness. We appreciate United Way Worldwide helping make this important message available.
