Bin day is a fixed weekly obstacle that gets harder in exactly the conditions that make falling most likely. People rarely ask for help with it because it seems too small to bother anyone with, and the alternative — not putting it out — compounds into a second problem. Doing it silently, as part of your own trip, removes the need for anyone to ask or acknowledge.

Take theirs out with yours and bring it back in the same evening, which is the half everyone forgets. Do it without mentioning it. If they raise it, keep it light — “I'm doing mine anyway” — so it stays a habit rather than becoming a favor.
