Why it lands
Individual replies feel proportionate to their author and arrive all at once for the recipient. Each person believes they are making a single reasonable point; the person receiving four thousand of them is having a different experience entirely. Since the first ten replies have already made every available argument, the marginal contribution of yours is zero and its marginal harm is not.

Check whether the point has already been made before adding it — it always has. If it genuinely matters, say it once, without the quote-tweet that recruits your followers. Then close the tab.
