BeingKind

Give a visitor the real recommendation

Tourists get sent to the thing on the map. Locals know the version two streets away that is better and cheaper.

Why it lands

Visitors are routed by algorithms and guidebooks towards whatever is most reviewed, which is usually the most expensive and least interesting option available. A local has information that is genuinely unobtainable otherwise, and giving it away costs nothing. It also changes what someone remembers about a place — people remember the person who told them where to go.

How

Be specific enough to act on: the name, the street, and what to order. Say why it is better. If they are in a group with children or mobility needs, factor that in rather than sending them somewhere impractical.
