Why it lands

Search results are full of threads that end with the original poster saying they solved it, with no explanation. Every one of those represents someone who got their answer and walked away, leaving the next hundred people to repeat the work. Posting the solution costs five minutes at the point where the knowledge is freshest, and is read by people you will never meet for a decade.

Post the actual fix, not just that you fixed it. Include the error message verbatim so search can find it, what you tried that failed, and the version numbers. Reply to the old thread even if it is years dead — that is the one that ranks.
