Write the delivery note before they arrive
Most failed deliveries are a driver guessing. Three sentences of instruction saves a doorstep conversation and a wasted trip.

Why it lands
Delivery drivers are timed per drop and penalised for failed deliveries they often cannot prevent. The information that would fix it — which gate, which neighbor, that the bell does not work — exists only in your head. Writing it into the delivery note converts a two-minute problem at your door into nothing at all, several times a week, for a person whose day is measured in minutes.
How
Use the instructions field properly: which door, whether the bell works, the safe place, the neighbor who will take it and their number. “Bell is broken, please knock hard” prevents more failed deliveries than anything else you can write.
