Review the small place that is not struggling yet

People review businesses when they are closing or failing. The useful time is before that.

Why it lands

Support arrives for small businesses at the point of crisis, when a social media appeal goes round and it is usually too late. Reviews work as prevention rather than rescue: they change discoverability over months, which is the timescale on which a business actually survives. A review written when things are fine is worth considerably more than one written when the shutters are going up.

How

Write it the same day, while you remember the detail. Name the specific thing and the person. Photographs materially increase how much a listing is shown, so add one. Four honest sentences beat a paragraph of enthusiasm.
