BeingKind

Send someone a photo of themselves from years ago

Everybody has pictures of other people sitting unseen on a hard drive. The subject has usually never seen them.

Why it lands

Photographs of us are mostly held by other people, and the ones we have not seen are the most valuable — a picture from a decade ago showing a version of yourself you have forgotten, or a person in it who has since died. Sending one costs nothing and delivers something genuinely irreplaceable, which is a rare combination.

How

Send it with the context: where, when, and what was happening. Send the unflattering candid one as well as the good one — the candid is usually the one people keep. If someone in it has died, send it privately and without commentary.

Nobody has marked this one yet. You could be the first.
