Tell the owner, not just the internet

A small shop owner may never see the review. Saying it to their face is the version that reaches them.

Why it lands

Independent owners are often not the person behind the counter and rarely read their own listings. Meanwhile they are making decisions — whether to keep the unpopular stock, whether the refit was worth it — largely blind. A customer saying directly which specific thing keeps them coming back is market research they cannot buy and reassurance they cannot get anywhere else.

How

Ask if the owner is in and say the specific thing: “The reason I come here instead of the big one is that you still do loose nails by weight.” That tells them what to protect, which is more useful than praise.
